The Centre of Sound: Recognising Anahad Naad
A talk in Hindi, with an English summary.
Talk in Hindi · 3 min · 6 August 2023 · अनहद नाद की पहचान क्या है?
Summary
A student asks about hearing a sound through the whole day. Yogi Shri distinguishes two things. Anahad naad — the unstruck inner sound of the yogic texts — comes with complete peace and joy. A sound that comes instead with restlessness is a message: something is being blocked.
Often, he explains, it appears at a point of extreme worry, when the ego fears losing everything or being rejected. The remedy is not meditation alone: identify the one matter that is troubling you most, recognise it, and then return to the meditation. When the true naad arises, it brings peace and joy with it.
Key points
- Anahad naad arrives with peace and joy.
- A disturbing sound can signal worry that is being held.
- Recognise the specific worry, then meditate.
