Online Yoga
Live yoga classes from Rishikesh, wherever you are.
Online yoga works best when it is live. You practice with a real teacher in real time, ask questions as they come up, and keep a fixed rhythm that is easy to hold. The classes are taught live from Rishikesh by Yogi Shri G. Niranjan, founder of Sanatan Yoga Vidya Kendra, and are open to students anywhere in the world.
What an online class includes
Every session follows the same pattern that is used in person in Rishikesh: an interactive exploration of the day’s theme, then practice, then time to share experience and receive guidance. Practice combines three elements that belong together in traditional yoga:
- Asana — postures practiced steadily and comfortably, adapted to your body.
- Pranayama — breath regulation that calms the nervous system and prepares the mind.
- Meditation — a short sitting that trains attention, so yoga does not stop at the body.

Online yoga for beginners
You do not need any experience. Beginners start with simple postures, an easy breath and short periods of sitting, and build from there. Tell us about your experience and any health condition when you join, so the teacher can suggest adaptations. If you would like a gentle, self-paced start before joining live, begin with the free Sadhana guide or read how live online yoga classes work.
What you need
- A laptop, tablet or phone with a stable internet connection.
- A mat or folded blanket, and a cushion or firm pillow to sit on.
- A quiet space of about two metres by one metre.
- Comfortable clothing, and an empty or light stomach — practice about two hours after a meal.
Fees and how to join
The weekly live group sessions and their recordings are included in the Blessed Aspirants membership (€30 per month), which also gives access to member-only content on the course platform. Send us a message and we will share the joining details. Recordings mean you can catch up when a session falls at an inconvenient time in your time zone.
Why learn from Rishikesh
Rishikesh has been a centre for yoga for generations, and the teaching here keeps its traditional character: yoga as a complete discipline of body, breath and awareness rather than exercise alone. Yogi Shri G. Niranjan began formal training at fourteen in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition and has taught for more than 25 years. Read about Yogi Shri.
