Summary
A question-and-answer on the inner instrument described in yoga and Vedanta. Yogi Shri begins with the ego (ahankar): whatever happens to us, it is the ego that keeps us going and holds on to life. It is not simply an enemy.
When you take your seat in meditation, he says, the power of knowledge begins to unfold: understanding opens by itself, because the knowledge was always within you — no one gives it to you. In meditation you can see your own mind. He relates the stages of Ashtanga Yoga to these faculties: in pratyahara only consciousness remains; when consciousness meets the senses, movements (vrittis) arise; restrain them and awareness contracts back.
His emphasis is practical: yoga is not a ten-minute session, but awareness held through all 24 hours.
