Tantra
An educational introduction to the tantric view of awareness.
In the yogic traditions, tantra is a body of teaching and practice that treats awareness itself as the path. It is often misunderstood; here it is approached educationally — through its texts, its view of consciousness and its meditation methods.
Foundations
- Texts — the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, the Shri Netra Tantram and related works.
- View — consciousness as the ground of experience.
- Method — techniques that use breath, sound, sensation and attention.
- Integration — practice carried into ordinary life.
How Yogi Shri teaches it
In Yogi Shri’s classes, tantra is taught the way every session is taught: an interactive exploration of the subject, followed by a practice, then time to share experience and receive personal guidance. The classical texts — the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads and the tantric scriptures — are studied for what they mean in daily practice.

What does tantra mean here?
Tantra is approached educationally: as a body of classical texts and meditation methods that treat awareness itself as the path — not as the popular stereotype.
Which texts are studied?
Principally the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra and the Shri Netra Tantram, read for what they mean in daily practice.
Do I need to be initiated to begin?
No. The introductory study and the meditation methods are open to sincere students; deeper work is guided personally.
